Connect AFAS to Power BI and your Azure data warehouse

Yres retrieves data from AFAS Profit through the AFAS App connector: every GetConnector you expose becomes a table in your data warehouse. The data lands in an Azure SQL database in your own Azure tenant, is historized there and is immediately usable in Power BI, alongside your other sources. Yres is an official AFAS partner; no middleware or server of your own is required.

What you arrange yourself
- 1Create an App connector in AFAS Profit (General → Management → App connector).
- 2Add the GetConnectors Yres may read. For incremental loading, include a modified-date field in the GetConnector.
- 3Generate the access credentials and note your AFAS environment number.
- 4Add the AFAS source in Yres, enter the details and pick the GetConnectors you want to load.
When you need this — and when you don't
A standalone connector is enough if…
If you only need AFAS figures in a single Power BI report, a standalone AFAS–Power BI connector is cheaper and quick enough.
Yres adds value if…
Yres earns its place once you combine AFAS with other sources (Exact, SAP, a planning tool, Excel), need history AFAS does not show, or want several report builders working from the same figures.

Do I need a data warehouse to get AFAS data into Power BI?
No. For one source and a handful of reports a direct connector is enough. A data warehouse pays off with three or more sources, high transaction volumes, or when you need to look back at what the data looked like on an earlier date.
Which AFAS data can Yres retrieve?
Anything you expose through a GetConnector. Yres reads the list of GetConnectors from your App connector and you choose per GetConnector whether and how it is loaded. Custom GetConnectors work the same way as the standard ones.
How often is the AFAS data refreshed?
You schedule it yourself, per table: nightly or hourly, for example. With incremental loading Yres only fetches changed rows, which limits the load on AFAS and the run time.
Does my AFAS data end up at Yres or Plainwater?
No. The pipelines, the database and the key vault live in your own Azure tenant. Yres manages that environment, but the data never leaves your tenant.
