Parliamentary data from the Dutch House of Representatives
Yres includes a fixed source for the open data of the Dutch House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer). You select the Tweede Kamer source type and name the source; the OData feed address, anonymous access and paging are pre-filled. You then decide which data to retrieve using entities, attributes and filters. Yres walks through all follow-up pages by itself and places the result in the Azure SQL database in your own Azure tenant, where you use it in Power BI next to your own data.

What you arrange yourself

- 3Add the entities you want to follow as tables and narrow the selection with filters where needed.
- 4Schedule how often the data is refreshed and link it in your data warehouse to your own files or themes.

A standalone connector is enough if…
If you only look something up about parliament now and then, the Tweede Kamer website or a one-off export from the Open Data Portal is enough.
Yres adds value if…
Yres earns its place for public affairs teams, trade associations and public-sector organisations that follow parliamentary data structurally and want to set it against their own files, in the same Power BI environment as the rest of their figures. The data then arrives on schedule and history is kept.

Which Tweede Kamer data can I load?
Anything the House of Representatives publishes as open data through its OData API. Yres does not restrict that choice: you select the entities and fields yourself. The Tweede Kamer Open Data Portal (opendata.tweedekamer.nl) describes the data model and is the place to decide what you need.
Do I have to request anything from the Tweede Kamer before connecting?
No. The feed is public and works without sign-in. There is nothing to request and nothing to prepare in Azure. In Yres, connecting consists of choosing the source type and giving it a name.
How do I avoid retrieving far more than I need?
The Tweede Kamer OData API works with entities, attributes and filters in the URL. That lets you compose a targeted query rather than pulling in entire entities. Whatever you do retrieve, Yres retrieves completely: it follows the follow-up pages automatically.
Can I combine parliamentary data with my own data?
Yes, that is the purpose. The data ends up in the same data warehouse as your other sources and follows the same load route, including history. In Power BI or in SQL you then relate it to your own topics, stakeholders or files.
